Exhibition Review: 'The Human Body'. | Liebster Blog Award 11.

Słyszeliście może o znanej na całym świecie wystawie pt.: "Human Body"? Odwiedziła ona kilka polskich miast, w tym Gdańsk, gdzie miałam okazję ją zobaczyć w czerwcu. Wstępnie planowana do końca sierpnia, ze względu na ogromne zainteresowanie została przedłużona najpierw do 13, a później 27 października.

O co właściwie w niej chodzi? Eksponatami wystawy są zakonserwowane narządy i układy człowieka oraz martwe płody. Akcja budzi duże kontrowersje. Pomimo to, zyskała wielu zwolenników, w tym mnie.

Myśl o widoku układu kostnego czy wątroby za cienką szybą może budzić obrzydzenie, ale nie u mnie. Uważam, że jest to świetny sposób uświadomienia ludziom pewnych zagrożeń, między innymi palenia (patrz: gablota z płucami zniszczonymi nowotworem). Wbrew pozorom widoki nie są brutalne, ale zwyczajnie ciekawe!

Co Wy myślicie o tej wystawie? Mieliście okazję zobaczyć/chcielibyście na nią pójść?

 

Have you heard of the world-famous exhibition "Human Body"? It visited several Polish cities, including Gdańsk, where I had the opportunity to see it in June. Initially planned for the end of August, due to the huge interest was extended first to 13th and then 27th October.

What is it actually about? Exhibits of the exhibition are preserved organs and systems of human and dead fetuses. The action gained great controversy. In spite ofd that it hasmany supporters, including me.

You might think the view of the skeleton and liver for thin glass would be disguisting, but not for me. I think it's a great way to make people aware of certain addictions, including smoking (look at showcase of destroyed lung cancer). Beyond the appearances, the views are not violent, but just fascinating!

Play Review: 'The Maids'.

 

"Pokojówki"

 

 

Ostatnio miałam okazję udać się do teatru na spektakl pt. "Pokojówki" w Teatrze Miejskim w Gdyni, który w Małej Sali odegrali studenci aktorstwa.

 

Dwóch mężczyzn odgrywa role pokojówek. Nienawidzą oni swojej pracodawczyni, a w dodatku w przeszłości wpędzili jej męża do więzienia poprzez fałszywe donosy. Teraz dostaje on przepustkę i ma spotkać się z małżonką w restauracji. Claire i Solange, pokojówki, starają się temu zapobiec. Do czego się posuną? Czy naprawdę są zdolne do w s z y s t k i e g o?

 

Szczerze mówiąc, jest to pierwsza poważniejsza sztuka, którą miałam okazję widzieć. Być może przez to dopiero w połowie zorientowałam się, o czym do końca jest mowa. Na początku miałam wrażenie, że bohaterowie cierpią na rozdwojenie jaźni. Początkowy dialog aktorów z reżyserem jedynie upewnił mnie w tym przekonaniu. I do tej pory nie wiem, o co tak naprawdę chodziło, nie mniej jednak sztuka ta dała mi wiele do myślenia!

 

 

'The Maids'

 

Recently, I have had an opportunity to see a play titled 'The Maids' in theatre in my hometown. It was held in a small room and young actor, students I suppose, have played.

 

Two men play roles of the maids. They hate their employer. In past, they had made her husband go to prison. Now he might get out for one night and he is going to meet with wife in restaurant. Claire and Solange, the maids, are doing their best to prevent it. Are they really able to do e v e r y t h i n g?

 

To be honest, it was my first more 'adult' play. It took me about half of event to understand the script. You could think that the character suffer from split personality. The dialogue between director and actors at the beginnings only made me not change my mind. Still, I'm not sure what it was about but it certainly made me thing about it!
